Columnated Ruins Domino

Sara and I just went to see The Golden Compass. Overall, I thought it was great. There were a few places where they glossed over elements that are more explicit in the book, particularly that pesky religious element, and the pacing seemed a bit rushed at times, flitting from one setting to another without convincing segues, but the special effects were great, and the acting all around was rather good, especially Nicole Kidman and the girl playing Lyra. I hope they end up making the sequels. The Church needs a few more bees in its bonnet.
